FAQs

We’ve answered some of the most common questions from leaders. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please reach out.

What if I'm not a "natural leader" or an extrovert?

That's perfectly fine. This course teaches that the best facilitators are often guides, not gurus. We give you the structure and proven skills to lead with self-assurance, leveraging your unique strengths, whatever your personality type.

What if someone in my group has a problem I can't solve?

Knowing your limits is a sign of a wise leader, not a weak one. A key part of our training focuses on ethics and understanding your Scope of Practice. We teach you to identify when a situation requires a professional referral, ensuring you lead responsibly and safely.

How much time does it really take? I have a busy schedule.

The course was designed for people with full lives. It is entirely self-paced and online, so you can move through the material whenever it fits your schedule – whether that's in small chunks or longer sessions. Most people complete it in 20 hours.

How is this different from other group management or leadership courses?

Many resources tell you what to discuss; this course teaches you how to lead. It focuses on the practical, hands-on skill of facilitation – how to manage group dynamics, ask powerful questions and create a safe space for real connection. It's designed for action, giving you a complete toolkit to guide a group to its own best outcome, not just present information.

Ready to Lead with Confidence?

The world needs more people who can lead with compassion and skill. This course provides the framework and the competence to help you make that difference.

FAQs

We’ve answered some of the most common questions here. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

What if I’m not a pastor or a “natural leader”?

This course is perfect for you. Group facilitators do not need to be highly qualified or exceptionally charismatic. What is important is a servant heart, teachable character, and a willingness to learn. SGF empowers all types of personalities with a proven framework for effective facilitation.

What if a group member has a problem I can't solve?

This is a crucial part of our training. The course will teach you about your scope of practice and the ethical responsibility of non-maleficence (doing no harm). You will learn how to identify situations that require professional help and gain the clarity to make appropriate referrals, ensuring the safety of your members and the integrity of your ministry.

I’m a busy volunteer. Can I realistically fit this in?

Yes. The course was designed for busy ministry leaders. It is entirely self-paced and online, so you can work through the material whenever it fits your schedule. Most leaders complete the training in 2-4 weeks, dedicating just a few hours a week.

How is this different from a regular Bible study curriculum?

Most curricula provide the content (what to study). SGF provides the competence (how to lead). We focus on the facilitator's skill, health, and ability to manage group dynamics, creating a safe and effective environment where any content – be it a Bible study or a support topic – can be impactfully integrated.
