Facilitators on the Frontline

Read about the experiences of existing recovery group and specialised programme facilitators.

"So as a pastor of a church that has a recovery group, there's just been immense value for us as a church. Having the people on the recovery journey as part of a church family has just taught me so many things about compassion, about endurance, about discipleship."
John Benn
Home Ground Recovery
"It's changed my life. It's changed the lives of my family, my facilitation team, the leadership of this church, so much so that it's changing how we do church. The resources are so powerfully entrenched in the word of God."
Mark Smith
Norwegian Settlers Recovery
"Our groups are also built on vulnerability and it's amazing to see how people bring things into the light and how they can see their addiction or problem more clearly and how they also learn from each other's experiences."

FAQs

Bridge is a custom-built web platform for facilitators of recovery groups and programmes, serving as the central point for starting and managing recovery initiatives.

What qualifications do I need to become a facilitator?

No prior expertise is required. Anyone with a heart to see lives transformed and a willingness to learn can become a facilitator. We provide essential training through our Academy, equipping you to lead recovery groups and programmes with confidence.

How does the subscription model work?

We offer tiered subscription plans based on your needs. The Starter Plan (R1,000/month) includes 1 recovery group and 2 lead facilitators. Growth and Established Plans provide additional groups, programmes, and facilitators. All plans include Academy access, Bridge access, and necessary resources. Digital workbooks for specialised programmes are charged separately per participant.

What's the difference between recovery groups and specialised programmes?

Recovery groups are weekly, ongoing gatherings for individuals seeking recovery from addictive disorders or the impact of another's addiction. Typically, members keep attending recovery groups indefinitely and, over time, often grow into facilitator roles or other service-related positions. Specialised programmes (ERS, Resound, Vantage, and Thrive) are structured “courses” with workbooks that can be completed individually or in small groups, focusing on specific recovery needs. Usually, specialised programmes take between 4 and 6 months for individuals to complete.

How long does the training take?

All facilitators complete our foundational training: Small Group Facilitation (SGF) and Addiction Recovery Training Intensive (ARTi), which takes approximately 22 hours. Programme-specific training is then added on top of this foundation. For addiction-related programmes (ERS, Resound, and Vantage), you'll need an additional 8 hours of programme-specific training. For Thrive, which is non-addiction specific, you only need the SGF portion plus Thrive-specific training. All training is accessible online and can be completed at your own pace.

Can we adapt the materials to fit our organisation's culture?

Yes! Our recovery strategies are designed to be dynamic, allowing your ministry or organisation to reflect your unique identity and culture while being powered by Project Exodus resources.
